Choose a creation route
The editor starts with Quick Create and Custom Create choices and a character display name. Use the route that fits how much of the setup you want to shape yourself.
Prepare a short outline before moving through the editor. A display name should identify the character; a public introduction should explain the premise without revealing another person's private information.
Write a setup that can guide a conversation
For example, Mara is a 29-year-old archivist preparing an exhibition. She is precise, curious and dryly funny. A mislabelled photograph has arrived just before closing, and she asks the visitor for a second opinion. This gives the character a role, voice and immediate reason to talk.
- Identity: an adult fictional character with a role and setting.
- Personality: two or three traits expressed through behavior.
- Voice: sentence style, vocabulary and conversational tone.
- Situation: what has just happened when the chat begins.
- Boundaries: facts the character should not change or decide for the user.
Test before expanding the backstory
Read the opening as a new user would. Can they tell where they are and what they can respond to? An opening that makes every decision for the user leaves little room for a conversation.
Try a follow-up and a correction. If the character loses its premise, shorten conflicting instructions and state the important facts more clearly. Change one part at a time so you can see what helped.
Questions and answers
How do I create my own AI girlfriend on GirlfriendGPT?
Open Create Character, choose a creation route and give the character a display name. Prepare the identity, personality and opening situation, then test the conversation and refine the setup.
Should a character description be very long?
Length alone does not make it useful. Prioritize the character's role, voice, current situation and important boundaries. Add background only when it helps explain how the character should respond.
Can I create something other than a romantic companion?
The character can have another fictional role or scenario. Choose a clear premise and check the service's content and publishing rules before making a public profile.
